UP in arms 2017
DIRECTED: ANNA-MARIA NABIRYE | CO-CREATED: ANNA-MARIA NABIRYE & ANNIE SAUNDERS
Duration: 4mins 26 sec
Up In Arms is manifesto to our work as feminist activists, creative collaborators, black and white women respectively, individual artists and most importantly friends. The piece stands on the shoulders of the relationships like feminists Dorothy Pitman-Hughes and Gloria Steinem iconically captured by photographer Dan Wynn in 1971 for Esquire Magazine. Using ritual, photography and immersive theatre practice to create a safe place for intimate conversation that opens a space for radical social change.
